• Abbott has entered into a global collaboration with Medtronic to combine its FreeStyle Libre continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology with Medtronic's automated insulin delivery (AID) and smart insulin pen systems. Financial details & commercial availability were undisclosed
• Abbott will develop the CGM sensor which will work solely with Medtronic devices and it will be sold by Medtronic
• The combination of Abbott's CGM sensor and Medtronic's AID algorithms will allow automatic regulation of insulin, keeping glucose in range plus enhancing diabetes care & providing people with choices to administer insulin
